First time trying this spot and I was pleasantly surprised. I was craving a Mexican shrimp cocktail and it hit the spot. The owners were really welcoming, the ingredients were fresh, and there were different hot sauces available along with Mexican beer. We tried the fish taco too and it was delicious. We'll definitely return with more ppl so they can enjoy it as well.

I'm extra picky with my ceviche and this is my go to place. My favorite is the shrimp ceviche but it runs out and the fish one is good to. The service is great always. This place is very cute to go to if you feel like a cold beer on a hot day.

Small menu of fresh Mexican fish tacos, ceviche and shrimp and mixed cocktails. Small cute place, order at the counter, comfortable seating. Pick soft drinks or Mexican beer from the fridge. We tried one fish and one shrimp taco each ($3.75 each iirc). These are good sized, double tortilla tacos expertly fried. I love that the cabbage was so finely shredded and pickled red onion was added. I usually prefer fish tacos, made with soft blue corn tortillas here, but the shrimp had so much flavor! No rice/ beans. They're just executing what they do best, and I can see coming here for a quick snack and trying the rest. Oh, the kind man dropped off a little squeeze bottle of smoky salsa, and limes, there's hot sauce on the table.

We stumbled upon Paolas by accident and it was great . The food was fresh . When we entered we were greeted the man was friendly , professional but warm hearted had a family man feel to him . He gave ehs recommendations and we ordered so much food it was a huge order . We tried it all oysters bomb , shrimp tacos , shrimp ceviche , chicken strips fries and shrimp . The place was very clean . They had the sodas from Mexico too which was cool . I would definitely be returning.

I was in the neighborhood and checked Yelp for a lunch recommendation. So glad I did, Pola's MARISCOS is fantastic! This is a small restaurant in a strip mall. Probably family owned. I only saw one employee, he might have been the owner, a very nice man. There was a menu at the counter where you order, and if you flip it over, there is a "secret menu" on the back. That's gotta be the good stuff, so I ordered a shrimp and ceviche combo. Wow!! Everything tastes so fresh!! Such a fantastic change to restaurants that serve dishes that were obviously old. I really liked this place and I'll be back. Gotta try more items from the secret menu!?

Great for take out and dining in. Pola's takes great care of you either way. Today was a great day for oysters, micheladas and menudo - overcast and cool. The service was 5 Star and so was the food. Seafood will tell you when it's had a bad day... Today the oysters and aguachiles were fresh as can be in Montclair. With oysters, you involve all the senses, and each one will tell you if something is wrong. First, the eye test - the oysters looked even colored and the shells were clean, nothing slimy floating around. Second, the smell test - you smell that ocean aire, nothing foul. Third, after adding some salt and Tapatío, the taste test - sweet, briny goodness, all good! 5 Stars. And then there's the menudo... Uffale! Gotta be The Best in SoCal. I've tried all the menudos from here to México City, and north of the border you'll be hard pressed to find a better one than this. Words don't do it justice, but I'll try bc Yelp... The broth is savory, slightly spicy with a clean finish. No nasty aftertaste. They clearly wash and rinse the tripe well. The meat is fork tender, well seasoned and not at all chewy. Brilliant execution of a classic, traditional dish. 5 stars!!

I was craving some ceviche, so I decided to give this spot a try! I ordered the fish taco, shrimp ceviche, and the fish ceviche tostada. The portions are decent & the food is good. Fish taco - 3.5/5 Tasted like your typical fish taco that you could probably get at Wahoos. But if I'm being honest, wahoos taste just a little better. The batter could have been a little more crunchy. Fish ceviche tostada - 4/5 It was packed flavor and the right amount of lemon. It tasted very good with their tostada. The only thing is that their tosatada was a bit hard, but otherwise, it tasted great with the ceviche. Shrimp ceviche - 4/5 For $15, this portion is actually pretty good. Flavors are all there and very similar to the fish ceviche. The shrimp is not overcooked, which is ideal.
